ABOUT ME

Since 2008, I have specialized in large-scale public commissions, partnering with architects, engineers, universities, cities, and patrons to bring bold visions to life—delivered on time and with excellence. My works include the Alabama Bicentennial Park bronzes (2020), sixteen marble panels tracing Alabama’s story from indigenous roots to space ambitions (featured on PBS); the monumental “Points in Time” oil murals for Tuscaloosa’s courthouse; the “Bronze Bomber” statue of Deontay Wilder; the Willie Mays tribute; and the University of Alabama’s Minerva. Grounded in figurative realism and inspired by Michelangelo and Caravaggio, I blend classical techniques—honed during a 2000 Fulbright in Italy—with modern vision to create art that celebrates heritage, ignites pride, and unites communities. Born in Honolulu in 1979 and now based in Tuscaloosa, where I founded O’Connor Art Studios with my wife Ruth, I continue to craft timeless pieces that honor humanity’s dreams and victories.
